About the Artist

Art inspires. Art is personal.
Art transforms the soul.

Abstract artist Carolyn Legg has been creating original artwork since 1997 that was first inspired during her initial struggle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). After years of amassing her extensive portfolio, her paintings are now being offered as Limited Editions.

Each piece tells a story and expresses Carolyn’s interpretation of her experiences with MS and her love of illustrating the world around us. Both beautiful and thought-provoking, her work is appreciated by the avid collector and those who simply have a love for powerful art.

“We are not defined by what happens to us, but rather by how we react in what we do and what we say.”

Carolyn Legg,

Artist

In 1997, I was diagnosed with MS and my life plans changed. I was put on a different path that I was not quite prepared to travel. But after coming to peace with the fact that this was indeed my “new life”, I found a creative outlet through painting to help express my feeling of pain, confusion and yes at times, frustration with the disease. My art is an expression of these personal experiences as it was through MS that I uncovered my hidden potential to paint. Understand that my work is not about the disease – although much of my painting is reflective of my journey – MS was simply the catalyst that allowed me the freedom to live out loud in a new way through art.

Reflections “My Three Year Journey to Freedom” was published and released in 2010 and shares the story of my MS experiences expressed through poetry both spiritual and personal in nature. Throughout the book, my artwork accompanies these writings to help narrate the story so that the readers may come to understand the disease visually as well.
